Another day he comes to visit his home and another day he is disguised as 'Ashton.' He's already checked up on his place to make sure his the pokemon were fine and making sure the ghost weren't going too wild in his absence. Though with Hoenn growing ever more wild there is curiosity that grows. Though sense good o' THEO BECKETT has made him Rocket maybe walking around would be easier. [break][break]

His target of course: the tree. [break][break]

Seeing the tree having grown to almost ridiculous levels he can't help but want to take a closer look at it. Though before he could get too close there is a particular flower that Salem decides to point out to him. "And just what is this?"

the politics of sootopolis continued to enamor him to the city. when he'd first chosen it, it had been with little thought on the matter — it seemed like a place that others had chosen, so he had assumed it would be fitting. but since the takeover, there was a comfort within the city that could be explained little else — save for maybe his actual home.

[break][break] and so used to his comfort, jayden was not prepared for seeing a stranger in the heart of it all — by the tree of life, no less.

[break][break] a few of their gardeners had sourced the flowers and collected a small garden near the front entrance. however, the area was guarded off and clearly not accessible to the public.

[break][break] "pretty, aren't they?" jayden strides over. he's wearing a white t-shirt and jeans — not really his style, but somehow it seemed that mint frost had infiltrated his wardrobe. "what's your name?" curious eyes lift towards the other.

He can't pinpoint it for sure seeing certain people rilled him up. Or maybe it was just the new persona he's taken just to be at his home that poked at his more antagonist nature he has come to surpress. Who knows, all he knows is that when he sees the familiar face there is an annoyance that crawls. [Break][break]

But Razz smirks because that's what his character would do. Try and play it all cool, "That's fer me ta know, who're you? One of them rocket guys?" he questions deciding to confirm something from before. Though sadly seeing Jayden here Razz knows the answer.

Awww if only the other could know so he was. For then he’d realize his little glare doesn’t phase him, not when he’s been on the other under end of the other man’s father. Now that was a terrifying Cross, but the kid in front of him? It was just Jayden, and they’ve been through enough times for Razz not to be afraid of the other.. [break][break]

So he chuckles as he taps a pokeball on his waist, a signal or maybe something else? Either way both Salem and Sable take the ready, ”I’m just some guy explorin’, so why don/t ya run along, because unless ya plan on stoppin’ me,” there is a small pause as ‘Ashton’ looks Jaden up and down, ”Which spoiler alert, ya can’t,” he chuckles, ”Imma do what I want, buh-bye now,” he says as he waves at the other as if expecting him to leave.

if only jayden could have known who he was, indeed. if he'd been privy to the other's thoughts he would have undoubtedly agreed — there were very few people who could instill in jayden the same amount of fear his father did, and it wasn't simply just for the complicated relationship that he had with the man. no, dmitri was a level of rocket all his own, someone who left traces of terror in his wake even if he was long gone.

[break][break] but jayden wasn't him.

[break][break] he stood in his place, undeterred by the other's confidence.

[break][break] "civilians aren't allowed within the confines of the tree," he states, dismissing the other's words with ease. perhaps just as easy as the other flicked his fingers at him. perhaps if it was another rocket, jayden might have been irritated. however, this was a civilian — perhaps a boundary just needed to be stablished.

[break][break] he snaps his fingers, and sure enough, two of his pokemon filter into view. his chandelure's flames are bright blue behind him, accompanied by a set of dualblades that float in the air.

[break][break] "you're awfully confident for a civilian."

[break][break] or perhaps it was stupidity. one was often not far from the other.

"Ohh? says who? Sum other high up," 'Ashton' teases allowing his annoyance to slip through as arrogance and passive aggressiveness. "ya always do as daddy says?" he continues to tease because like himself he knows what Jayden has gone through. Problem was did the other hold the same types of regrets that Razz did?[break][break]

And while normally he'd probably be more paralyzed but the site of the fire pokemon, his time as an avatar and some training with FERNANDO SILPH, has improved that. "Well maybe I ain't no common civillian?" and with the 'pink' haired man gives a whistle and at the order Sable uses SNARL on the two ghost pokemon. More as a distraction than anything else as Salem uses PSYCHIC, not on either pokemon but rather on the indicated pokeball as it opens and something new comes out. But with it's small size and swift nature it would keep out of sight for now. DETECTING for what the enemy would do next.

[break][break] jayden tenses as the whistles, releasing two pokemon who immediately aim attacks as his own pokemon. it comes too fast for them to do anything about it, but pain is not something rare for either pokemon to encounter. neither is it for their master.

[break][break] as his chandelure releases a CONFUSE RAY aimed towards his pokemon, jayden grabs the hilts of his duoblade to slice the other open with RETALITATE.

[break][break] civilian or not, jayden would not hold back for an intruder.

Salem takes the hit of CONFUSE RAY as he knows its very important Sable keeps up their trainer's appearance. Though it wasn't like he would try for anything else, well usually, in his confused state he does end up attacking with SPRINGTIDE STORM and sends a pink tornado flying at the opponent. All while Jayden grabs the hilt to try and strike him, thanks to the earlier DETECT Zinc is able to get there in time to block the blade before it could hurt the 'civilian.' The small Ultra Beast staring down it's opponent and seems to ask something as if it's trainer would understand. [break][break]

At first 'Ashton' looks at the other with a serious expression. But then he smiles and laughs as he steps back with his arms up in surrender. "And that Beckett guy says ya guys are push overs," he chuckles before clicking his tongue and his pokemon are no longer ready to attack. The Ultra Beast included, though Zinc keeps their guard up as a just in case, "I give up... you win I lose and all that yada yada crap," he puts his arms down to cross them. [break][break]

"Name's Ashton, got hired by that THEO BECKETT guy cause he says that some y'all a bunch of pansies," he didn't and his mouth burns for the lie but maybe he wants to cause some discourse. Razz embracing a more chaotic side of himself that he doesn't let out. "And I wuz curious to see, but taking a blade ta wut ya thought to be a civie? Brutal," he chuckles, though inwardly it just confirms one fact. [break][break]

Jayden was beyond being saved.

the unusual tornado rips through the grass, slamming into the chandelure with ease. pink flowers and hues float up around them, what might ordinarily be a beautiful sight, if not for the conflict brewing between the two boys — two boys tied by a string of fate, whether they themselves knew it or not at that moment.

[break][break] the metal of his duoblade's sword sing with a mighty clang against the beast pokemon that appears. even jayden has enough sense, in his impulse, to leap back at the sight. clever.

[break][break] this was no ordinary civilian.

[break][break] 'beckett.' well, that would explain things, now wouldn't it?

[break][break] jayden releases both swords, leaving his duoblade to float in the air next to him.

[break][break] "a civilian who breaks the law is still a rule-breaker."

[break][break] the ex-beast is unphased — both by the implication of the other's comments, and the comments themselves. he has never cared as much for people as the ordinary person. perhaps it was his own upbringing, perhaps it was the bloodlust that ran through all rockets.

[break][break] "plus," he says, blinking. "people can be sewn back together. trust cannot."

[break][break] he folds his arms, seeming to consider something.

[break][break] "did he send you here then? you're a rocket?"

So learn ta pick yer targets boy," he repeats a lesson he knows was taught to him, via his mother or someone else he can't recall. Its been too long. [break][break]

"But yeah am part of Rocket, admittedly still new but I've been in 'nough troubling times ta know sum basic bullshit, now can I go look at da tree n' its pretty lights? Promise tis all I'm here to do," well not really and his mouth burns for the lie but an act is an act, "I'll even call off dis guy," 'Ashton' will point to the Ultra Beast, it may not be big but it didn't take away power.

his words were meant to cut, but like a knife upon a block of steel, it barely had an impact.
